OHMA Alumni Updates: Spring 2017

We are excited to share a round of spring news updates from our OHMA alumni community!

LIZA ZAPOL (2010)

Congratulations to Liza Zapol (2010), who was recently hired as the Arlene and Robert Kogod Secretarial Scholar for Oral History at the Archives of American Art

She will be managing and overseeing the collection of new oral histories, which involves helping to strategize the collection process and streamlining their overall workflow. Liza is delighted to be conducting oral histories for the Archives.

SVETLANA KITTO, 2009

Svetlana Kitto (2009) recently interviewed artist Ken Tisa, the subject of Ken Tisa: Objects / Time / Offerings, the first show from Gordon Robichaux.

The final product, Ken Tisa: The Other Side of Visible, published by Pre-Echo Press, will feature these oral stories interlaid with photographs of objects from the show, and be launched in conjunction with the exhibit.

The book and related show are a collaboration between artists: Jacob Robichaux and Sam Gordon who conceived of the project with Ken Tisa; Matt Connors, who helped conceptualize and publish the book; Josie Keefe, who shot the photographs and created the layout for the book; and Svetlana's endeavor of collecting Ken’s stories and writing them into something new.

LAUREN TAYLOR, 2008

We are happy to share that Lauren Taylor (2008) has recently published a chapter on the therapeutic use of narrative in Narrative in Social Work Practice (Columbia University Press, 2017).

LANCE THURNER, 2008

Congratulations to Lance Thurner (2008) for his selection as a National HWW Pre-Doctoral Fellow to the 2017 Humanities Without Borders Summer Workshop in Chicago!
