Kristen La Follette

Kristen La Follette teaches oral history service learning and creative writing at California State University Monterey Bay. She also taught workshops for Monterey County Theatre Alliance, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Veteran’s Oral History Project and Partners for Peace, a gang prevention program. Along with teaching, she creates, researches and writes about oral history theatre. Her verbatim play, Pushing Against the Water: A Bay Area Muslim Women’s Oral History Project was featured in the 2019 Greenhouse Theatre Festival in San Francisco. Kristen graduated in 2012 with an M.A. in Oral History from Columbia University. She contributed to the NCPH Radical Roots of Oral History book project and is a founding member of the Oral History Association’s Emerging Professionals Committee. In 2019, she earned her M.F.A. in Playwriting from San Francisco State University.
