This installation is a part of Listening Through Time and Place: An Interactive Oral History Exhibit, OHMA's multimedia interactive popup exhibition of stories, which will take place at the Social Hall at Union Theological Seminary on April 28, 2016 at 5:00 pm.

This exhibit will be a multimedia representation of Santería. Using images, flowers, colors, and music, I give context to the complex world of the religion. The images, and materials will be displayed to resemble a religious shrine or alter, and guests will be able to listen to audio clips that blend traditional music with oral history interviews of practitioners of the religion.

Este exhibición seria una representación multimedio de la Santería. Utilizando imágenes, flores, colores y música doy contexto del mundo complejo de la religión. Las imágenes y materiales será demostrado en forma de un altar. Visitantes tendrán la oportunidad a escuchar segmentos de audio que combine música folclórico con entrevistas de participantes de la religión.

From Andrew: I identify as a Queer Afro-Puerto Rican and Dominican practitioner of the Santería religion. I am interested in highlighting the world I grew up in in my professional work. In undergrad I studied Latin American and Caribbean studies focusing on history and anthropology. I also participated in social justice organizing both on campus and in my own community. I hope to use oral history as a vehicle to share the realities I have grown up in.

Por Andrew: Me identifico como un Queer Afro-Puertorriqueño y Dominicano del Bronx. Soy parte de la comunidad de Santería. Me interesa destacar el mundo en que me crie en mi carrera profesional. En la Universidad, me enfoqué en estudios latinoamericanos y caribeños. Participé en activismo estudiantil también en mi propia comunidad. Deseo usar historia oral como un vehículo para compartir realidades de mi mundo.
