After graduating from the OHMA program in 2014, Jacob B Horton accepted an internship with the Nantucket Historical Association. That assignment resulted in the New Voices, New Arrivals museum exhibit which highlights the experiences of Nantucket's first-generation immigrants. Since then Jacob has worked for the NHA in a variety of capacities including a stint as public programs coordinator. In 2016, he returned to oral history research as the NHA's Oral History Fellow. He has designed and managed logistics for a new volunteer oral history program which trains interested community members in the fundamental skills associated with the oral history interview process. He is also working to refine and enrich the standing NHA oral history archive which contains more than 400 interviews, highlighting island history as far back as 1934.
